O Questions & Answers

Q: How do I go about getting a free estimate?

A: Just rollover Muralworks or email us at rollover

Let us know what kind of project you're thinking of doing, the size of the space to be painted, and as many details as you believe necessary to explain the idea. It may be necessary for us to contact you for more information and / or meet.

Q: How does the production process go?

A: For murals and custom projects: Depending on your needs, Muralworks can either take an existing idea and produce the final artwork or we can first develop concept sketches to review, then fine-tune and develop the final image to be painted.

For faux finishes: We can run with a decided finish, provide sample boards, or show you our portfolio of finish samples. After finding the right finish and colors we proceed to wow the walls.

Q: What is Muralworks' pricing policy?

A: Price is determined by the project and depends on the size of the work and the amount of detail.

Q: How long does it generally take to paint a mural, portrait, or commissioned painting?

A: The time involved depends on the project. Most murals for the home and kids rooms take between 2-12 days. For example, the civil war mural took 2 artists 2 days to finish, the Pontifical College Josephinum chapel restoration took a crew of 5 artists 3 months to complete, and the greek landscape alcove took 1 artist 3 days.

Q: How long will a mural last?

A: Depending on the type of paint used, most indoor murals will last as long as the walls they are painted on provided that the mural doesn't get too much exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause colors to fade. Outdoor murals generally last 10 to 20 years or more. We also offer a protective, clear top finish to help protect the murals.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes.

Q: What is trompe l'oeil?

A: It's a type of mural that creates an illusory effect of reality produced by shading, perspective and composition, giving the illusion that the viewer can "walk into" the space that the mural portrays.

Q: Can you prepare the surface to be painted?

A: Yes, we can spackle, sand, and prime the surface before painting if needed.

Q: Do you strip wallpaper?

A: No, sorry.
