• Build Your Own Mural

What makes this approach unique is that you have the freedom to take any of the template ideas and modify them to your liking. We can also help with suggestions. You can't get this kind of flexibility with mass produced, mailorder, wallpaper murals.

Or we can develop a completely new idea from scratch, providing 2 - 3 initial concept sketches and revising the concept and colors until a final, one of a kind image is decided upon. Then we simply pick up our paint brushes and get to work! Be sure to visit the Kids' Rooms section of our portfolio to see more ideas.

Keep in mind that these are just sketched templates only. The final artwork would show more modulation and depth then what the solid filled templates reflect. The airplane example illustrates this.

• Your idea center

At the very least, these templates should provide lots of ideas for your nursery or kids' room. We would be glad to "brain storm" or expand on some of the ideas with you further, even if you decide not to have us do the painting. Our creativity is at your service and the sky is the limit!

• More Application Options

I've been painting murals for kids rooms and nurseries long enough to know that parents aren't always crazy about the idea of sticking something permanent on their kids' room walls.

Billy might be enthralled with trains when he's 4 and two years later it's dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs! Or maybe you plan on moving in a few years and would like to be able to prep and repaint the wall(s) easily in order to resell the house. Or take the mural with you.

That's why we've offered different application options for most of the mural ideas:

• Painted Directly to the wall (for central Ohio residents only)

Pros: • No installation • It can be sanded, primed, and painted over relatively easily at a later date, if need be.

Cons: For large, full room murals the sanding may take a little time (though a palm sander can save you a lot of time on sanding).

• Painted on Canvas We paint the mural in the studio on a light canvas that can be hung easily with wallpaper paste. You can rollover or if you live in Franklin county or surrounding areas, we can install the canvas for a $18.00 fee.

Pros: • Very sturdy

Cons: • It can be messy to install. Treat it like wallpaper. • It can be a little tough to get off the wall at a later date, like removing wallpaper.

Another option (if the canvas is rectangular and not a cut out shape) is to staple the canvas to the wall and cover the edges with a frame that is nailed to the wall. This works well if you would like to be able to move the art at a later date with minimal wall clean up afterwards. We've done this before, with great success.

• Painted on Stretched Canvas As a hung painting, this is about as low maintenance as you can get.

Pros: • It's easy to hang, easy to move, and minimal damage to the wall.

Cons: Of course, you would want to be sure that little hands can't pull it off of the wall.

• Painted on Foam Core Board The board could then be hung with picture hanging strips that come off cleanly! No nail holes, no mess, and you can reposition for easy leveling. We provide the strips at no cost.

Pros: • It's light, easy to hang, easy to move, and does no damage to the wall (not even a nail hole to patch).

Cons: • It's the least durable of the options and the edges are suseptable to getting dinged but as long as it is hung out of reach of little hands it will be fine. • May warp if exposed to excess moisture. We don't recomend washing it.

• Painted on Gator Board Gator board is a light weight, durable board made from a plexi-glass type material. This isn't mentioned as an option with the templates but it would be a great choice if you wanted something that's tough, light, and removable. Contact us for more details as to how this option could work for you.

Pros: • Next to painting directly to the wall this option is as sturdy as you can get. It does have a little weight to it (about the same as masonite) so we recomend attaching it to the wall with a few wood or drywall screws. It's easy to hang, easy to move, and minimal damage to the wall.

Cons: It has a little weight to it. Can be a little obnoxious to store.
